Gujarat has secured the top position in the States' Startup Ranking 2022, as per the National Report by the Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
The report, unveiled by Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, highlights Gujarat's consistent performance as the best performer for the fourth consecutive year.
In the category comprising states with a population of over 1 crore, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu emerged as top performers.
The report reveals that around 1,800 startups have been granted patents, contributing to the total of over 1.17 lakh recognized startups in India.
The state's startup community celebrated the achievement, emphasizing the importance of financing and the widespread availability of incubators.
Education Minister Kuber Dindor launched a Startup Guide for students of Classes 6 to 12 on the same day as part of the overall initiative.
